Vagamon sits on the Kottayam–Idukki border, about 100 km from Kochi and 65 km from Kottayam. There is no railway station or airport in Vagamon itself — everyone arrives by road, and the final 25 km of hairpin climb is half the experience.

From Kochi / Ernakulam (≈100 km, 3–3.5 hrs)
The most common route: Kochi → Muvattupuzha → Thodupuzha → Moolamattom → Vagamon. Roads are good throughout, with the scenic climb starting after Elappara. An alternative via Pala → Erattupetta → Teekoy takes similar time and passes rubber and spice plantations. Cochin International Airport (COK) is the nearest airport at roughly 115 km.
From Kottayam (≈65 km, 2 hrs)
Kottayam → Pala → Erattupetta → Wagamon Road → Teekoy → Vagamon. Kottayam is the nearest major railway station, well connected to Chennai, Bangalore, Trivandrum and Kochi. The Teekoy ghat section is narrow but spectacular — tea estates begin around Elamkadu and continue to Pullikkanam.
From Bangalore (≈530 km, 9–10 hrs)
Drive via Salem → Coimbatore → Palakkad → Thrissur → Muvattupuzha → Thodupuzha → Vagamon, or take an overnight train/bus to Kottayam or Ernakulam and drive up from there. Overnight buses to Erattupetta (the nearest big junction, 25 km away) are the budget option; local jeeps and taxis cover the last stretch.
By Train — Nearest Railway Stations
Kottayam (KTYM, 65 km) is the most convenient, followed by Ernakulam (ERS/ERN, 95 km) and Changanassery (80 km). All have prepaid taxi counters; the drive up takes about 2 hours from Kottayam. We arrange resort pickup from any of these stations.
By Bus & the Last Mile
KSRTC and private buses run from Kottayam and Erattupetta to Vagamon town through the day. From Vagamon town, Simons Holidays at Pullikkanam is a further 4 km — autos and jeeps are available at the junction, or we can pick you up from town on request.
